Medical office building breaks ground

Dallas-based Rainier Medical Investments (RMI) has begun construction of the River Walk Medical Park I, an 82,000 square foot medical office building that will be fully connected on three levels to the Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Flower Mound on FM 2499.

The building, expected to be completed in summer 2012, is the first of several medical office and retail buildings that will ultimately form the medical campus to be known as River Walk Medical Park in Flower Mound.

“We have already seen a very significant increase in leasing activity for Medical Park I as the medical community is now realizing that this project is a reality – it’s finally here,” said Tim Lavender, president of RMI.

Dallas-based Ridgemont Construction has been selected as the general contractor for the project.

The River Walk Marquis, a second 27,000 square foot building to be located at the entrance of The River Walk at Central Park, is already leasing and is anticipated to begin construction in March with an opening by late fall 2012, according to RMI officials.
