The Flower Mound town council is expected to decide the fate Monday of a proposed $14 million grocery store makeover and expansion that could bring 75 to 80 new jobs.
Along with a larger store on the southwest corner of FM 2499 and FM 1171, Kroger is also requesting the addition of a gas station.
Their specific use permit for the gas pumps was denied by the town’s planning and zoning commission last month primarily due to traffic concerns.
Now, Kroger officials said that without the gas station, the company may scrap the whole plan to modernize the store.
To get a green light on the specific use permit, a nearly unanimous or super-majority vote is needed from council members.
