Denton County GOP names scholarship winner

Sarah Starnes of Denton was recently awarded a $500 scholarship from the Denton County Republican Party.

Starnes is a full time student with a 3.94 GPA at the University of North Texas where she is majoring in English and Economics.

“Sarah is an outstanding and exemplary young Texan and the members of the Denton County Republican Party are very proud of her and her accomplishments,” said Judge Robert Ramirez, the Party’s Vice Chairman for Outreach.

Starnes has co-chaired the 2010 Area Victory Committee, served as a delegate to the 2010 Senatorial Convention and is an active member of the Denton Republican Women’s Club.  Her career objectives are to work in positions that utilize her analytical and writing skills, while allowing her to effect change in the business and political communities.
