Put on your boots and saddle up for the 83rd annual North Texas State Fair & Rodeo starting this Friday in Denton.
Attendees can enjoy live concerts, rodeos nightly, numerous contests, shopping, a kids zone, midway and carnival games, food and more, according to fair officials.
The fair is one of the largest events in Denton County and is home to one of the largest PRCA rodeos in the Southwest.
This year’s music lineup on the Budweiser main stage includes: Casey Donahew Band, Jack Ingram, Emilio Navario, Pauline Reese, Dale Watson, Cody Canada & the Departed, The Josh Abbott Band, Tracy Lawrence and Randy Rogers.
In addition to the music there is a professional rodeo every night in Miller Light Rodeo Arena along with livestock shows in the First State Bank Livestock Pavilion.
A new attraction this year – The Live Shark Encounter presented by CoServ – features an interactive experience featuring live sharks.
Other activities include the Peterbilt Kids Tracker Pull, Spirit Horse presented by Darr/JCB, Photography, Rodeo Queen, BBQ & Chili Cook-Off, pageant, youth art, creative arts, fun & games and more.
To beat the heat, there is over 110,000 square feet of misted, shaded and air conditioned areas.
