A Double Oak teen was in stable condition Monday after an apparent accidental shooting.
Double Oak Police said a 14-year-old boy in the 100 blk. of N. Forest Ln. was assembling and disassembling pistols with a friend around 4:00 a.m. when one of the guns fired, hitting the boy in the torso.
An initial investigation led police to believe that the gunshot wound was accidentally self-inflicted.
Double Oak and Argyle Fire Departments responded to the scene, provided medical treatment and transported the teen to Harris Methodist Hospital in Ft. Worth via Care Flight.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
