Fairy Tale Summer
Family friendly fairy tale-themed shows will run nearly every weekend in the summer at Studio B Performing Arts Center in Highland Village. Beginning June 24, “Fairy Tale Summer” will feature shows including ‘Rapunzel, Jack & the Beanstalk’, ‘Frog Prince of Spamalot’, ‘Into the Woods’ and ‘Rockin’ Tales of Snow White’. Put Your Best Paw Forward
The Humane Society of Flower Mound will host its annual dog walk fundraiser, Fido Fest, on June 18 at Westchester Park in Flower Mound. The event will feature a dog walk through the trails and a day of demonstrations, activities, pet-related vendors, concessions, contests, and games for dogs and their owners. How Do Their Gardens Grow?
The Denton County Master Gardeners Association, the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the City of Denton will host the 2011 Denton County Fruit, Vegetable, Herb and Flower Show on June 18 at the Denton County Fire Fighters Memorial Park, at the corner of Carroll Blvd. and Mulberry St. in Denton. The annual competition showcases fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers grown in Denton County and is open to any county resident. There is no entry fee to participate. 940-349-2892 or www.dcmga.com

Get a Running Start on 4th Holiday
Lace up your running shoes and kick off Independence Day at the 2011 Declaration Dash, hosted by the North Texas Striders Running Club and the town of Double Oak. The annual 5K starts at Double Oak Town Hall the morning of July 4th. More details at www.northtxstriders.com.
