The 2011 Argyle Bluegrass Festival will be held this Friday and Saturday, March 4 & 5, at the Cross Timbers Community Church, located at 1119 U.S. Highway 377 in Argyle.
This is the seventh year for the festival, and Argyle Town Manager Lyle Dresher said it has become a local staple.
“It has evolved into a signature event for the town as well as being very well-known in the Bluegrass culture throughout the country,” Dresher said. “I believe this is evidenced by the wide range of performers and their standing in the Bluegrass artistry. Because of its track record of success, it should be embraced as one of the marquee community events.”
Dresher said, according to the Argyle Bluegrass Festival organizers, the event has an area economic benefit of over $500,000 per year.
Tickets, starting at $25 for general admission, will go on sale at the door beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Visit www.argylebluegrassfestival.com for more details.
