Thank you very much

The Royal Affairs Ballroom in Old Town Lewisville was the setting for the First Annual Viva Las Vegas; Wine, Dine & Dance on January 21st, which raised funds for Meals On Wheels of Denton County/SPAN, Inc.

Attendees danced to The KAT Moore Band, some lucky ladies danced with Elvis on stage, watched an illusionist perform magic, gambled in the large casino, ate great food donated by 10 local restaurants, and won great trips and prizes.

“When the community understood the need of our seniors they came out to support the cause, it was truly a blessing to have such a large group of citizens and business leaders coming together to benefit our hungry seniors in Denton County”  said Kendra Wagner, the Community Outreach Director for Meals On Wheels.

“You can imagine, with an average income of our seniors at $613 per month, there is a great need for food and transportation assistance for our homebound seniors”

Viva Las Vegas is just one of many activities that Meals On Wheels of Denton County/SPAN does each year to raise awareness of senior hunger, to encourage action on the part of the local community and to bring in much needed funding.  Their goal is to nourish and enrich the lives of the homebound seniors in need through services that promote dignity and independent living.
