Rotary club to host fundraiser for local charities

It’s the perfect excuse to enjoy a fabulous night of gourmet food, fine wines and friends, and it’s all about helping others.

Community members are invited to ‘Vine and Dine: a Toast to Flower Mound Rotary Charities’ at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 28, 2011, at Celebrations, 2380 Justin Rd. in Highland Village.

Participants will enjoy exquisite dining provided by Mike Salerno of Salerno’s Italian Restaurant and Master Chef Morris Salerno of The Grotto.  Each course will be specially matched with complementary wines.  Prior to dinner, guests will enjoy a “Wine Stroll” to sample wines from various local vintners as well as those from Italian and German regions.  Live music and a live auction will complete the evening’s affair.

Proceeds raised will benefit the charities and civic service projects of the Flower Mound Rotary and Rotary International, including Pediplace, YMCA of Flower Mound, Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County, Lewisville ISD Education Foundation and many more.

The Keynote speaker will be Flower Mound resident Mark Davis, one of the most dominant local radio talk show hosts in America.  In his 17th year at WBAP radio, his Texas success has spread to newspaper columns, frequent local and national TV appearances, and a regular slot substituting for Rush Limbaugh.  Mark has won two prestigious Katie Awards from the Dallas Press Club and five awards from the Texas Associated Press Broadcasters for commentary.

Tickets are $100 per person and may be purchased at www.flowermoundwinestroll.com.  Sponsorships are available starting at $500.  For more information about the event, call Janet Ogletree at 214-334-5505 or Jackie Herr at 940-395-6465.

The Flower Mound Rotary Club was formed in 1986 and has more than 70 members.  For more information, visit www.flowermoundrotary.org.
