The Highland Village Police Department kicked off its latest business community partnership, dubbed “Operation Shield”, this week.
Members of the HVPD and Civilian Auxiliary worked for several hours Wednesday to install metal shields that will help prevent a burglar from prying open the rear doors at 12 businesses in the city.
Highland Village City Manager Michael Leavitt authorized the police department’s sponsorship of the program as an initiative in support of the Highland Village Business Association.
HVPD plans on scheduling additional installation days during the upcoming weeks.
Local businesses that wish to have a rear door shield installed should contact Lt. Karl Schlichter at 972-317-5558, Ext 503, or [email protected].
