New Mayor and City Council sworn in

Dr. Scott McDearmont was sworn in as Mayor of Highland Village at the city council meeting on Tuesday.

“With the help of the citizens, our great city staff and my colleagues on council, I want Highland Village to continue to grow in character, opportunity, and quality of life,” said Mayor McDearmont.

“I want to be available and will do all I can to respond to concerns and questions in an efficient and timely manner. Also, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who has encouraged and supported me over the last few months,”

Bill Irwin, John McGee and Louis Robichaux also began their new terms on the city council Tuesday.

Prior to the meeting, a reception was held honoring outgoing Mayor Dianne Costa and Mayor Pro Tem Don Combs.
