Supports Ramirez in Probate Court Runoff

As the runoff elections approaching, I would like to voice my concern about a particular race, namely the probate one. I am supporting Robert Ramirez for these reasons:

– I strongly believe Robert is the most qualified candidate. His primary focus of practice the last several years has been in the area of probate and guardianship, with many more actual court cases handled than his opponent. This is particularly true in guardianship issues, an area where she has very little experience, despite her self-quoted qualifications on paper.

– On the other hand, the husband of Robert’s opponent is already a sitting District Court judge here in Denton County. While she seems to be a nice person and I have no reason to believe she would be deliberately prejudiced, cases can and will overlap and I think it is wiser to avoid concentrating that much power in one family. In fact, one could argue that her choice to run for that position, given the circumstances, raises questions about her judgment and her understanding of the importance of avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.

I know that there are some courts in Texas that have such overlaps, but that they are not held by Republicans and, as a party, we definitely do not support such overlap.

Early voting is April 5-9 and the runoff election will be held on April 13 – Kindly check your polling place before you go.

Thank you for your consideration and your vote for Robert Ramirez – and please tell your friends to vote as well!
