Waketon Road will be restricted to one lane of traffic in three separate spots between Bridlewood Blvd. and Chinn Chapel Road this Wednesday through Friday due to utility work.
The work will be done between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. to minimize the impact to traffic, according to Charlie Wright with the Double Oak Public Works Department.
Wright said that the eastbound lane will be closed for about a hundred feet, and a flagman will be stationed on each end directing traffic through the work zone.
A utility crew will use a vacuum hose truck to excavate down to the top of the existing 30-inch water line to determine the depth of the water line below the pavement.
The water line runs the length of Waketon, on the south side of the road between Bridlewood Blvd. and Chinn Chapel.
Wright said that the information is needed for designing the upcoming Waketon Road improvements.
