Marquettes finish season strong

The Marcus Marquette Varsity Drill Team and JV Silver Stars won multiple awards at their last competition of the season on Feb. 27 at Timber Creek High School in Keller.

The Marquettes earned Super Sweepstakes, Best in Class for Pom and Kick, Highest scoring Kick routine of the day, Highest precision points in the Extra large size division, Outstanding technique, Outstanding choreography for Pom and Kick, the Crowd Pleaser award for Pom, Grand Champion in their Class, Highest scoring routine of the entire day for their kick, and Highest Overall Scoring Team of the day and were named Grand Champion Team of the event out of 39 teams

Marquette Officers won Super Sweepstakes by earning a 90 and above from every judge on every routine.  They also received Best in Class Officer Jazz and Lyrical, Best Overall Technique, Outstanding Precision, a Choreography award for their jazz, Grand Champion in their Class and were placed in the Winners circle, which was the top 6 officer groups regardless of size division.

The JV Silver Stars won Super Sweepstakes, 1st runner up for their team modern and novelty, outstanding choreography for their modern, and 2nd Runner up Overall in the JV category out of 10 teams.

In the junior solo division, 1st runner up was Kiara Scheurich, and 3rd runner up was Kaci McClure. Megan James and Peyton Brown won 2nd runner up in their category for their duet. In the senior division, Rachael Hutto won 1st place out of over 143 senior soloists.
