In honor of African American History Month, the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) celebrated Race Relations Sunday with a pulpit exchange.
For the second year, Senior Minister J. Allen Lowe of Creekwood Christian Church in Flower Mound and Reverend Lloyd Facen of Warren Avenue Christian Church, located in South Dallas, swapped places on Sunday morning.
“Last year we had such a great response to the Pulpit Exchange; both congregations were looking forward to this year’s event,” said Reverend Lowe.
Following Sunday’s service, Reverend Facen said, “It is our desire to have more of these events and encourage other area churches to do the same as we celebrate the one body of Christ.”
