My heart goes out to the Brodsky family who lost their dear son Colen.  The sorrow is doubled when you feel justice was not served for your son.  As a mother who lost her 19 year old son, I sadly know the road this family walks.  You never get over the loss no matter how many years pass.  My son Dominic has been gone five years and I think of him and miss him every day.  I wish you peace Brodsky family.  I will pray for you as I pray for any parent who has lost a child as.  God bless.

Hello Ms. Cathy,

I am not sure where or not you are the one who wrote the wonderful story "My Son's Sign," from the 'Messages from Heaven' book of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series. The story, however, touched my heart and soothed my soul in a very positive way.

Best wishes,

Cathy, you for your blessings. We have no idea what tomorrow brings and can only imagine what we are facing. We do not know the circumstances surrounding the loss of your son; however, we do wish you peace. There is something incredibly wrong with our justice system and how the DA and Grand Jury look and decide on which cases will be heard. We believe by proxy they have both decided innocent even though they are not to decide guilt or innocence but only evidence for a case to be moved forward. So many other countries and even other states have either abolished or no longer use the Grand Jury system. We believe the only cases they want are the easy ones... Repeat offenders. However, if they make the practice of stopping them before they become repeat offenders there would be less people dying. Even after multiple offenses, there were no other tickets or charges against the person who took our son and he walks on the roads today - Free....
