The next session of the Texas Legislature begins in 11 months, and preparations have already begun.  During the period between legislative sessions, which occur every other year for 140 days, Senate and House committees hold public hearings on a series of interim charges.  Studies on these topics serve as a blueprint for major legislation that will be considered in the 2013 session.

Good news!
Our former mayor, Mike Donnelly, is coming back to town council.  Mike only served one term as Mayor after serving several terms on Town Council.  Mike out worked all of us, managing a full time job as well as the task of performing as a full time mayor.  He decided not to run for a second term because family obligations were restricting time available for the town.

Happy New Year from Denton County Precinct 4!  As we look ahead to an exciting new year, I want to reflect back and share with you a list of accomplishments from 2011 we worked towards in partnerships with our 17 cities within Precinct 4, and also some milestones for Denton County.

Like those that came before in our state’s rich history, 2011 was a year that will stand out with its own unique attributes.  Even though we’ve only had a few days to reflect on 2011, many events and moments from the past year will continue to have an impact on our way of life going forward.

I moved to Flower Mound 6 years ago. Since I have lived here I have heard many stories about how much the police officers like to give tickets. Well now I have to say I have experienced it myself.
