We finally had our meeting on Aug. 16 to consider the request for a Special Use Permit (SUP) from Williams to expand the existing pad site on Simmons Road.  Permission to drill at that site had already been awarded to Red Oak so technically the request deals only with site issues.

LISD teachers and school level administration are doing an “exemplary” job of educating my children. I experience first-hand the high standards, hard work and dedication that benefit our children. In an effort to keep that standard high and the District “accountable,” I encourage you to vote against the LISD tax increase on the September 14th ballot.

The Town of Double Oak is responsible for Texas' water, both quality and quantity, all the way to Austin and beyond.  Why?  Double Oak rests over the Edwards Trinity Aquifer and the Woodbine Aquifer.  Plus, the Paluxy, Antlers, and Twin Mountains aquifers are nearby.  Like every other community, Double Oak's environmental deeds matter to Texans.

As a strong believer in the 10th Amendment, I support a state’s right to control its own destiny and to implement policies that serve its citizens best.  I believe many citizens agree with this philosophical approach, yet the foundation of this principle currently finds itself in a fragile state at the hands of our federal government.

The Town Council of Double Oak has a big decision to make on September 7 whether or not to allow the conditional approval of five gas wells operated by Williams Production with a provision for 10 more.
