I am writing this letter to the Editor of The Cross Timbers Gazette in response to an opinion column entitled “The right way to protect Flower Mound” by Ladd Biro.  I am disturbed by the tone, inflammatory language, twisting of facts, incorrect information, and questionable logic is apparently condoned simply because it is offered as an “opinion”.   Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that doesn’t mean it should be offered a public forum without editorial scrutiny.

Flower Mound Councilmen Al Filidoro was clearly pandering to the Flower Mound Cares petition group at the March 1st Town Council meeting by suggesting that the council call a special meeting on Monday, March 8, to discuss calling for a special election.

As you know, I ran for Denton School Board Trustee Place 1 last year and lost by 15 votes. Although the outcome was not what I'd wished, I still felt like a winner and thank all of you who voted and your support. The close numbers show that their definately is a need for a parent with children in the district on the school board. We still need a Parents Perspective. This year we are facing budget shortages and shortfalls that will affect our teachers and our children. Who would know this better than an active parent in the schools, seeing the needs of the children, teachers and administrators up front and personal. The district is facing a growing problem of students leaving the district and going to other districts, charter, private and home school. What are they doing that we are not? Well I'd like to know why is that is, wouldnt you? Who and what programs will be most affected by the budget shortage. Its time to stop playing with our childrens future and get down to business. Can I count on your vote and support to help me get this accomplished? I'd like to hear from you and your concerns. Lets Talk.

I respect Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Steve Dixon for his dedication and service to our community.  But his arguments on the merits of a Centralized Collection Facility (CCF) are disingenuous at best, misleading and irresponsible at worst.

After making a purchase at Ann Taylor Loft at The Shops at Highland Village on Friday morning, February 26th, I noticed that my car and house keys were not in my purse.  After failing to find my keys inside the store, I walked to my car and discovered that I had dropped my keys into the console cup holder and had locked my car door by hand rather than using the key fob lock.  Drizzling rain mixed with a few snowflakes had begun and I returned to the store.  A clerk at Loft told me she thought that the Highland Village police would open my car door as a courtesy to me and I was given the non-emergency police phone number to call.
