Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D. (Texas-26) has announced a town hall meeting in Flower Mound scheduled for the first week of August.

Area residents are encouraged to attend and learn more about health care reform, taxes and spending, energy legislation, immigration reform, or other issues.

“I’ll be there to hear from you on the issues that are important to you, your family, and our community, and discuss issues currently before the United States Congress,” Congressman Burgess said.

Burgess is a member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight & Investigations, and a member of the Health and Energy & Environment subcommittees. He is also a member of the bipartisan, bicameral Joint Economic Committee. Prior to becoming a member of Congress in 2002, Burgess practiced medicine in North Texas for over 25 years.

So the independants did not learn their lesson in the last election? You don't have enough votes to elect an independant, you vote for them anyway, and then we get stuck with the Democrats. You need to think it through. It is better to have Burgess than a Democrat that will help Obama push through his agenda.

I look at the issues and what that Candidate represents. I will be the first to admit that my fellow Tea Party'rs fall along the racial divide. I have considered Mr Burgess' position on many issues and have come to the conclusion that he's a rank in file Republican no matter what the issue. Is this kind of man you want in Washington? I think if an independent ran, I would vote for them just out of protest. Big O&G interests pay the way for Mr Burgess and his party. Make no mistake about that. The acorn does not fall far from the tree. I'm for the people who work hard, pay their fair share of taxes and have a right to live in their homes in peace. Mr. Burgess in my opinion only represents the interest of his party, race and industry.

Mr. Tea Party:

A vote against Burgess is a vote for Obama. Is that what you want?

In April 2005, Burgess was one of only 20 House Members (out of 427 voting) to vote in opposition to the restoration of the House Ethics Committee rule barring indicted members from holding leadership positions in the House...Michael Burgess has received $70,700 in oil contributions during the 110th congress. $54,000 of those dollars were from industry PACS. In total, Burgess has accepted $144,096 from oil companies since from 2000 to 2008, which makes him a top recipient of oil money.[1] See above for oil and energy voting history.

Burgess is quite a talented man! He can talk out both sides of his mouth while at the same time save the world! Docta Soundbite really knows his stuff. Ask him how his cursade to lower infant mortality is going. And for desert, top it off with a OB/GYN who is opposed to the reproductive rights of his patients. Bye Bye Burgess. Time to go and don't forget to wash your hands this time on your way out...

As a member of the Tea Party, I'm ready for a change. Burgess consistently fails to act on the interest of his constituents at the behest of special interest. Please do not vote for this candidate this election.
