The Flower Mound Town Council will meet Monday afternoon at a specially called meeting to possibly terminate the employment contract of Town Manager Harlan Jefferson.
The meeting will be held at town hall council chambers at 5 p.m. After the closed portion of the meeting, board members will hold an open meeting and take action if necessary.
The two items on the Agenda for the meeting are: "Discuss and consider employment status of Town Manager, and all matters incident and related thereto," and "Discuss and consider job duties and responsibilities of Interim Town Manager and all matters incident and related thereto."
Jefferson was placed on paid administrative leave by town council on Sept. 22. Chuck Springer, Assistant Town Manager/Chief Financial Officer, was named to assume Jefferson's duties in the interim.
Jefferson was named town manager in April 2006 and served as Flower Mound's Deputy Town Manager and CFO prior to that. There are three years left on Jefferson's current employment contract.

If I have no substance, then why are you bothering to stoop to such insults?
Attacking from behind a mask when I haven't one reminds me of a famous lion.
You sound a lot like David Axelrod, talking points but really no substance…. You got your education on mixed use in one night… come on, I am just going to shake my head on that one. You should really reconsider the "many people" you get your information from.
If the last town election were held today, the people you are trying to talk for might get even fewer votes.

Flower Mound's history is that of "egg faces". What has been the constant, Harlan Jefferson. Maybe Council is listening to you, and they are reviewing what needs to change so that when you talk to your friends you know longer have Egg on your face.
I'd much prefer to keep Harlan & nix the rush on approving Lakeside DFW (Mixed Use=Apts) Dev.
Lakeside was a hotly discussed topic in the last election, with the previous regime stalling, embarrassing, and thinking of every excuse possible to kill the proposed Lakeside Development. A large majority of resident did not favor your line of thinking. Sorry.
Name the study or report that backs up your quote about the sewer facility
Quoting Elaine Barry:
If we terminate Harlan, then our legal+ severance costs will be higher.
