 Communities In Schools of North Texas (CISNT) celebrated its annual Texas Star Gala last month and raised a record amount to further its mission.
More than 325 people joined Honorary Chair Congressman Michael Burgess and the staff of CISNT to celebrate the individuals and organizations that contributed their time and money to make this past school year such a huge success. The gala committee, made up completely of volunteers, worked hard to secure sponsorships and donations that allowed CISNT to raise an unprecedented amount of over $65,000.
These vital funds will go to support Communities In Schools of North Texas drop-out prevention programs across Denton ISD, Lewisville ISD, Little Elm ISD, and Northwest ISD.
Communities In Schools of North Texas serves more than 3,400 students by directly case managing the students identified as the most at risk across the four school districts they serve.
The gala is their opportunity to say thank you to all the people whose efforts make a difference in the lives of these students.
More than 1,000 individuals volunteered with CISNT programs this year, and the demand for more volunteers continues to grow.
“We could not do what we do as an agency without the corporate support from the community and the support of individual volunteers,” said Dana Smith, CISNT CEO. “This gala provides us the perfect venue to give them recognition and to publicly thank them.”
