Highland Village has a new fire chief.  John Glover, former Deputy Chief of Operations with the City of Coppell, was sworn in on May 14.

Glover replaces Lonnie Tatum, who will be retiring on June 30. Tatum started with the city in 2001 and had previously spent over three decades as the fire chief in Nacogdoches, TX.

The city initiated a recruitment campaign in February and received 39 applications. The city council passed a resolution approving the appointment of Glover as Fire Chief at their May 8th meeting.

Lonnie Tatum brought the HVFD in the 21st century. The city will miss his steadfast leadership. I wish Chief Tatum the best in his retirement and Chief Glover will have some enormous shoes to fill.
