Keller Williams Realty associates may have taken the day off on May 10 but it was hardly a day of rest.

Associates with the Flower Mound office chose to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day.

Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service.

As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Flower Mound spent the day with six local families who have fallen on hard times due to extreme circumstances.

From power washing, to painting and staining, pulling weeds and trimming shrubs, and fence and shed repairs, every associate gave of their time to help these families that live right in our own backyard.

“This event is an entrenched part of Keller Williams Realty’s culture and displays the extraordinary effect a company can have when individuals come together to work as a team for the greater good of everyone,” said Team Leader, Anne Lakusta.

“Last year, we worked at two elementary schools in the Lewisville ISD, planting and weeding, installing benches and cleaning up a butterfly garden, much to the delight of clapping students.”

During RED Day 2011, over 40,000 Keller Williams associates nationwide participated in activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, doing yard work for neighbors in need or revamping gardens at nursing homes totaling more than 190,000 hours of service, making RED Day one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.

The Keller Williams Realty Flower Mound Market Center, located at 2611 Cross Timbers in Flower Mound, is a full service real estate firm with 210 sales associates.
