Students studying horticulture are encouraged to submit an application for the Tom Harpool Horticultural Scholarship offered by the Denton County Master Gardeners Association.

The deadline for consideration is 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27.

The Tom Harpool Horticultural Scholarship was created to assist and encourage students enrolled in the study of horticulture or other related major.

The $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to any Denton County resident who is currently enrolled at any college or university. To raise money for the scholarship fund, DCMGA members open their gardens for public viewing and sell plants from their gardens.

To review the requirements and apply for the scholarship, download the application found at www.DCMGA.com. Complete the application and mail with proof of enrollment and two letters of recommendation to DCMGA Scholarship Committee, 306 N. Loop 288, Suite 222, Denton, TX 76209.

Call the AgriLife Extension office with questions at 940-349-2883.
