Flower Mound creates video about proposed reservoir PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 12 February 2013 23:09

The Town of Flower Mound recently produced a video on the proposed Lake Ralph Hall reservoir and how it may affect Denton County's water rates.

The presentation focuses on the Upper Trinity Regional Water District, its rates, and its plans to construct Lake Ralph Hall in Fannin County, which will be about the size of Lake Grapevine.

The cost to build the lake has been estimated to be from a low of $274 million to a high of $464 million, funded by the Upper Trinity Water District’s customers through rate increases.

Flower Mound is currently contesting the permit from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality allowing Upper Trinity to build Lake Ralph Hall.  A decision is expected this summer.

The town made a settlement offer to Upper Trinity to withdraw its opposition as long as the water district took steps to explore other more cost efficient options prior to building the lake. The settlement offer was rejected by Upper Trinity.
