Speak Up for Texas Public Schools will host three community forums Wednesday to provide area residents with information on standardized testing and vouchers, along with the impact pending legislation will have on communities, students, teachers, and public schools.

Forums will include speakers from Texans Advocating for Meaningful Student Assessment (TAMSA) and Texas Kids Can’t Wait. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.

All forums will be identical and repeated throughout the day Wednesday at various times and locations. Forum times and locations are:

• 9:30 a.m. at the William T. Bolin Administrative Center, 1565 West Main Street, Lewisville, 75067 (on the northeast corner of Main Street and Garden Ridge Blvd.)

• 12:00 p.m. at LISD’s Career Center East, 2553 FM 544, Lewisville, 75056 (located just off the TX Hwy 121/Sam Rayburn Tollway)

• 7:00 p.m. at LISD’s Special Services Administrative Building, 400 West Main Street, Lewisville, 75057 (located just east of I-35 behind the Medical Center of Lewisville)

Each forum is expected to last approximately one hour.

Speak Up for Texas Public Schools is a local, grassroots advocacy group formed by Lewisville ISD parents to raise awareness about the challenges and threats facing public schools, their students and surrounding communities and help advocate for meaningful change.
