The Argyle High School Student Council held their second annual Angel Tree Community Dinner to celebrate the joy of giving on Dec. 5 at Argyle High School.

This event was implemented last year to get the school district and Argyle community together to raise money for local children in need.

"The AHS Student Council's goal was to have every angel on the tree adopted that night, and they all were," said Argyle ISD spokesperson, Pam Arrington.

Over 250 people were present at the event and over 70 angels were adopted.

Radio host George Dunham of Argyle was the key speaker for the evening.

Sherry Cargile, the Argyle CCL Angel Tree Chairperson who organized all of the angels, spoke about how others can help adopt angels and volunteer in the effort.

Argyle ISD Superintendent Dr. Telena Wright was on hand to support the event, along with Assistant Superintendent Chris Daniel, Argyle High School Principal Jeff Butts and others.

The AHS Choir provided musical entertainment along with solo performances by middle school student council member Malia May and high school choir member Molly Livingston.

Santa showed up to make a special appearance and visited with residents that attended the charity event.
