Our team has been anxiously awaiting the opening of one of Flower Mound’s newest restaurants, Salata, off of FM 2499 near the Super Target and Dick’s Sporting Goods. So, we went for lunch during its opening week this week (along with everyone else in Flower Mound it seemed) and enjoyed some delicious, freshly made salads!
We had the opportunity to meet franchise owner, Haroon Saleemi, and asked him a few questions about opening his own Salata location.
How did you come to be a Salata franchisee?
I was a customer of Salata for four years before becoming a franchisee. I wanted to get involved with something I enjoyed and since my wife and I found ourselves at Salata two or three times a week, I figured it was a good choice for us.
What’s been your favorite part about the restaurant business?
My favorite part of the restaurant has definitely been the people. I think we have put together a wonderful team to serve our customers. In our first week of opening, I have already seen the same customers two or three times. I think that says a lot about our food options, service and environment.
What would you like the residents of Flower Mound to know about your restaurant?
I would love them to come join us for a healthy lunch or dinner. If they come in once, I know they will keep coming back (even multiple times a week) because of all our fresh options. We serve both salads and wraps with lots of different chicken and seafood options, along with our house-made dressings.
Even after opening my own Salata, I still find myself at other Salatas for a meal.
And we experienced exactly what Haroon described! We have met several people who have already been to Salata two or three times this week because of the great environment and fresh meal options!
Everything is fully customizable – you simply make your way down the salad bar and create whatever salad or wrap you want. You can load it up with veggies, give it a Southwestern feel with their Chipotle Ranch dressing and can add whichever protein you want from herb-marinated grilled chicken to baked salmon to spicy shrimp. With a selection of more than 50 fresh ingredients, it’s easy to create the perfect tossed-to-order salad for you!
And their house-made signature dressings are delicious as well. We tried the ginger lime vinaigrette, the buttermilk ranch and the chipotle ranch and all three were incredible – and even tasted good mixed together!
They also offer a great selection of soups (that are all gluten-free!) including broccoli, tortilla and tomato basil.
With everyone in our office trying to eat a little healthier, I think we’ll probably be frequenting Salata to try out some more great salad and wrap combinations as well as some of their soups!
If you’re looking for a fresh, healthy option for lunch or dinner, I’d definitely recommend you give this new restaurant a try! Haroon is a great guy who clearly loves what he does and the food and service offered are absolutely wonderful!
