Amen brother!

Double Amen.

This is beyond absurd. Government has no business in this. Where the heck do you draw the line? I happen to have a weakness for Ben & Jerrys...are you going to tell me how many I can buy? What about any food for that matter? Just about anything is fine in moderation. People need to take responsibilities for their own actions. And a sin tax on a Big Gulp is absurd as well IMO...I rarely drink soda. Why should I pay an extra tax the one or 2 times a year I take a road trip and decide to buy one for the road?

This world is becoming (or in some cases, has become) a sad, sad place.

Heh... josh... you don't make any sense. :D

Having to buy (& handle) two drinks is more difficult, more hassle, and more expensive... what does economics say happens when something is more hassle and more expensive? Are people going to consume less or more of it?

Depends on elasticity of demand.

Random thought:

I wonder how many people that are in favor of a ban on large soft drinks are in favor of legalizing drugs?

Government isn't telling you how many you can buy! They are limiting the size of them to 16oz. If you want 80oz, buy 5! If they would be limiting you, you couldn't buy 5, but just 2!
So all you crying about this new proposal are at the same time OK with all the smoking bans put in place by the same city, state or federal government? Where is the logic?
