The Town of Double Oak has been notified and asked by the FM407 contractor to communicate the following traffic advisory:
On Friday morning (04/05/13) at 9:00am (Double Oak Portion) the East/West traffic on FM407 will be switched to the new lanes on the north side of 407. Once traffic is switched, the old road (south side) will be milled down and re-graded so that it’s even with the new surface to the north. Unfortunately because of the drop off between the new and old road surface, Cedarcrest Lane will be closed for a few hours this Friday while they lower the old surface. Once both sides of FM407 are even again, cars can begin accessing 407 from both Cedarcrest Lane and Tanglewood Drive. Flagmen will be present at the intersection of FM 407 and Tanglewood Drive during the temporary Cedarcrest closure on Friday morning to assist motorists with the detour. BE ADVISED: SIMMONS ROAD WILL BE CLOSED FROM TIMBERLEAF DRIVE NORTHBOUND TO FM 407 ON FRIDAY 04-05-13 FOR 60-90 DAYS FOR REALIGNMENT AND RECONSTRUCTION.
DETOUR INFO FOR THE TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CEDARCREST ON FRIDAY MORNING 04-05-13: The temporary detour plan will be to close Cedarcrest Lane just north of Timeberleaf Drive while the old road is lowered to meet the new surface level. A detour will be marked sending traffic along Timberleaf Drive, Forest Park Lane, Maple Leaf Drive and out/in on Tanglewood. Again this is only for Friday, but remember that Simmons will remain closed until its completely finished.
DETOUR INFO FOR SIMMONS ROAD/FM 407 INTERSETION RECONSTRUCTION: We have been informed by the contractor that Simmons Road will be closed from Timberleaf Drive up to FM 407 for 60-90 days while the drainage and road surface are reconstructed. This will detour vehicles along Timberleaf Drive to Cedarcrest Lane. Signs will be posted to assist motorists.
PLEASE BE AWARE OF PROJECT CONSTRUCTION WORKERS AND FOLLOW THEIR DIRECTION AND OBEY POSTED SPEED LIMIT.
THE DOUBLE OAK POLICE DEPARTMENT WILL BE PRESENT WITHIN THE DETOUR ROUTE AND STRICTLY ENFORCING THE POSTED SPEED LIMIT FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY.
