A federal judge has told Republican leaders in Texas to plan as though the state’s primary will be May 29 because the long-running dispute over redistricting likely won’t allow for it to be held any earlier: http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/ ... story.html

Early voting for the May 29 Primary Election ends tomorrow (Friday, 5/25).

From Sheriff Benny Parkey:

"As of yesterday there were 11,374 people that had early voted. There is one more day of early voting. Then the election day on May 29th. If you had not gone to the polls please do so. Your vote does count and is very important to me even if you don't vote for me. At least take the time to vote. There have been many soldiers for many years sacrificing so we can maintain our system of government. My father was a tank mechanic in WWII. I know he was proud of his service and I am proud of him. But it is up to those of us living our daily lives to do such a small thing as stop and go vote our conscious to keep alive what those that serve have preserved for us. GO VOTE! Thank you."

I didn't know there is a "school choice" question on the ballot... and "repealing obamacare" and "public prayer" questions (and more)... interesting.

It's one of the downfalls to primary elections, all the party BS. It makes me not want to vote in primaries anymore. Besides the unrelenting barrage of party junk mail, phone calls and fund raising...actually, fund raising is at the root of the majority of it.

Quick election analysis from State Senator Dan Patrick: July 31 run-off will feature a US Senate race between Dewhurst & Cruz, Supreme Court-Medina/Devine, RR Commission-Smitherman/Parker, RR Commission-Craddick/Chisum. These races will be hard fought and expensive for a turnout that could be be less than 6% of registered voters.

Here's most of the junk political mailers I received before the election. I got another one the day of the election (yesterday).

Depending on what was said on them, I used them to decide to vote against them... for example, if someone blames everything on Obama because they are playing the "hate card", then I vote against them. Similarly, when lies and deceptions are clearly and obviously used, I also use it as a basis to vote against them. :D

CS Al, great weeding out process, but are there any candidates left standing?

Wonder what ever happened to addressing the issues instead of attacking the person and their character?
