Expulsion of College Student over Christian Beliefs

Postby admin » Fri Jul 30, 2010 12:24 am

A federal judge has ruled in favor of a public university that removed a Christian student from its graduate program in school counseling over her belief that homosexuality is morally wrong.

Monday's ruling, according to Julea Ward's attorneys, could result in Christian students across the country being expelled from public university for similar views: http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/07/28/co ... latestnews

Sounds pretty bad... people should not be forced to provide counsel that they don't believe in. :(

Another "sign of the times".

Her lawyers assumtions that Christian students across the country will be expelled is ridiculous. But wait, homoism from a moral, biological, physical, chemical, and a just plain "that's disgusting" angle, is wrong, no doubt. Just not politically wrong. What belongs in the closet should stay in the closet. "don't ask, don't tell", I'm good with. Has this forum ever had a homo topic? gay is still in the dictionary and tolerance is opening the closet door a lot wider.

Just curious, if a counselor encounters a homosexual student for a counseling session and the counselor's stance is, as in this case that homosexuality is "morally wrong," what advice should this counselor provide, or what courses of action is open to the counselor? Should the counselor refer the patient to another counselor that does not share that belief, even if the counselor thus would believe that he is referring the patient to a practitioner that would provide inferior advice based on the counselor's own moral beliefs?

Is there anyone still that seriously believe that homosexuality is a transient or curable condition?

Inquiring minds want to know.
