In-N-Out Burger is reportedly scouting the Dallas-Fort Worth market for possible locations: http://www.advocatemag.com/far-north-da ... ns_ND.html

I would drive to Houston on a Friday/Saturday night for an In-N-Out burger if they had a location that close!!!!!!!!

That place is usually the first stop after getting the rental car whenever I go out west for business.

OMG.......an In-N-Out burger in DFW would be really dangerous!

I visited CA years ago and tried their burger... I remember it being pretty good, but not good enough for me to drive to Houston for it or Austin for that matter. :)

Can you buy these burgers shipped frozen with dry ice like you can Chicago pizza?

I lived in LA for three years and when I first moved there could not understand why there would be a huge line of cars for In-and-Out Burger until I tried it. Home of the Double-Double, Triple-Triple, and the infamous 4 X 4!

Everything is made and prepped fresh every day. They use fresh ground beef for the patties, cut their own fries, etc. They have been expanding East for the last decade and I can't believe they are coming to North Texas!

Part of In-N-Out's expansion problems/dilemma is that their business model is based off the fresh meat, veggies, and other ingredients that make their food so good is actually grown on corporate farms. Getting these to the stores outside a certain xx mile radius has hindered their expansion plans. This is very similar to Oklahoma based Braums and how they grow/raise almost everything they make/sell. Hopefully they can work out those kinks and expand into DFW area.

There is a good book about their business model that I keep intending on buying....maybe I'll purchase it today:

You can click on the cover in the above link and read the forward which is pretty interesting.

I had no idea that Braums worked that way. Interesting.

Braum's owns their own Dairy Farms which is pretty cool. My ownly issue with Braum's is that they haven't remodeled their stores since the ice age, and their menu is not that far behind.

I think In-n-Out is a nice option whenever I work in Costa Mesa. I can't tell the difference between their burgers and Freddie's.

I'd prefer good food with decor stuck in the 70's over a flashy remodel with processed food. Some of my favorite restaurants would scare you if you walked in off the street and didn't know how good the food was before hand.

There is a pizza joint in Pittsburgh where I grew up that probably violates just about every health code known to mankind. 80 year old Italian dude smoking a cigarette in a tank top with gold chains and chest hair hanging out making the pies, ovens that haven't been cleaned since they were installed back in the 60's, ingredients sitting out on the counter in big bowls instead of in temperature controlled pizza prep tables, just down right scary enough to make the most seasoned health inspector cringe. But in my opinion it is the best pizza on the planet earth, and is consistently voted best Pizza in Pittsburgh and one of top 10 in the country.

I crave Taco Villa. ;)

Sorry, I grew up eating it as a special treat in the panhandle and it baffles me that there isn't a ONE within driving distance... Lubbock is NOT within driving distance.

I'm a fan on In and Out -- what I like best is the freshness and associated fresh taste of their products.
It doesn't matter if I've had my coffee or not.

Supposedly, there is a place modeled after In and Out that's going in at 1171 and 2499 in the same strip center as Baskin Robbins. Down at the west end where 1 or 2 places have already failed. It was during a super bowl party so I can't remember the name. Surprised I remember that much....
