Review: Papa John's delivery

Postby Common Sense Al » Fri May 11, 2007 8:51 pm

We didn't feel like cooking tonight so we ordered Papa John's online.

Temperature upon arrival (2 out of 5): warm, almost "cold"... disappointing
:( :(

Original Crust Spinach Alfredo Deluxe pizza (2.5 out of 5):
:) :) 1/2

Pepperoni Perfect Pan pizza (3 out of 5):
:) :) :)

It was nice that we didn't have to drive anywhere to get it, but the pizza was a bit disappointing. At least it is pizza so it's still "good". :D

I do like that you can order online, but our order was messed up because they thought it was for carryout. This caused a delay as I had to call and have them deliver it. They were suppose to re-make the pizza since it had been sitting there awhile (hopefully they did). I'm pretty sure, but not certain, that we ordered it for delivery. Perhaps the problem was caused because I updated our address (phone number only though) immediately after placing the order and perhaps that caused the problem.

Al,
Have you tried Palio's delivery yet? They are pretty darn good. We used to order pizza delivery from Papa Johns and MVP. But ever since we found Palio's we have stayed with them. The HV location is the one that delivers here. Their number is 972-317-5020. You can also mention the "upsize for free" coupon and they will upsize your pizza for free. They never ask for the coupon. I got an XL meatlovers (upsized from a large) last week for about $15. It was huge and very good. They cut it into squares instead of slices.
Take care,
Angela

Thanks for the tip, tx.

We get pizza from Bari's and we like that pretty well. I'll try your suggestion, though!

I haven't tried their delivery yet but I have had some good Palio's pizza. I'll have to try them next time. Thanks for the reminder.

Too bad i Fratelli's doesn't deliver here.

I like Palio's Pizza a lot, especially their New York style crust. Be prepared to wait about 45 minutes for delivery. Great pizza and they actually sell several different salads including one with sun-dried tomatoes that is terrific. If you dine in they are BYOB.

We only tried Bari's once and it took one hour and fifteen minutes to deliver. The manager ended up giving it to us for free but it didn't matter as the pizza was terrible. Normally I give a place at least two tries, but not Bari's, it was that bad.

Like Al I tried Papa John's on-line because they had a better coupon, and it took about fifteen minutes longer than normal to get our order than just calling in on the phone. I don't like to see the Papa John's drivers speeding through our neighborhood.

Looks like they are building a new Peter Piper Pizza over by LA Fitness. I've never heard of this chain.......

Sorry to hijack, but since someone mentioned Bari's-

We used to get takeout all the time from the Bari's in FM, and LOVED it. I was excited about the delivery location close to Lantana when we moved. However, everything we've gotten from the Bari's up here has been sub-par... it's almost like they aren't even using the same recipes. Odd.
