So, a sate of the art, air conditioned indoor gun range is what it takes to finally put Lewisville "on the map", according to a quote in the article. Who da thunk, that would be what it took? Brain fart from Brenda Latham?

It's funny, some of the claims they make. It's an indoor range. It's not Quail Creek, but it's not unlike some others, including another in the area that's in the process of being designed and built. It's also funny how all the blown out of proportion safety issues are hammered on. I guess they need to, for those that think any firearm can pierce tanks and explodes like what you see on episodes of Macgyver. And the RO's? What range doesn't have overly strict rules and RO's?

I'll say this, unless they're really bad, they'll be packed. Hopefully they'll allow practice and training that really matters.....I doubt it.

Count me in as a day one user of this facility. DFW gun range is convenient during the week for lunch time shooting, but nothing good around here for the weekends.

"good" being the operative word. I haven't been to Elm Fork in a while but the renovation, as far as it was last I was there was pretty decent.

I'm curious about the Advanced GunWorks place. I'm not even sure if construction is close to being started, but it promises to be state a of the art training facility.

"Hopefully they'll allow practice and training that really matters....."

I would not count on that, it will be 2 seconds between shots, no drawing from a concealed carry position... the type of practice will be turning money into noise and seeing holes in paper.... Personally I stay away from ranges that are open to the public as I want to know who is in any shooting positions around me and their idea of being safe may not be on the same level as mine although I do wish them well in their venture.........

Now why does this make me chuckle? I wonder what my kids' friends' parents would think when they receive a birthday party invitation to go to an indoor gun range.

Hmmm... I'm not sure "guns", "kids" and "party" should be used in the same sentence.

Would anyone be surprised at that?

See! When people think with common sense, they are not surprised at what I say.

Kids should respect guns, not party with them.

I'm betting it will only take one accident to shut this down & that it's only a matter of time.

Why would any business take on that risk? And what insurance company would cover this? I would assume that their premiums would be sky-high.
