The Social Security Administration announced the most popular baby names in Texas for 2011. Jacob and Sophia topped the list.
The top five boys and girls names for 2011 in Texas were:
Boys:
1) Jacob
2) Jayden
3) Daniel
4) Jose
5) David
Girls:
1) Sophia
2) Isabella
3) Emma
4) Mia
5) Emily
Earlier this week the federal government’s top official for baby names, Michael J. Astrue, Commissioner of Social Security, announced Sophia and Jacob were the most popular baby names in the U.S. How does Texas compare to the rest of the country?
