I've never seen anyone turn his back on the voters as quickly and completely as Burgess did since he got elected the first time. I guess job security matters to him as much as it matters to most of those pols out there.
*PS: For the literally minded. I meant the above figuratively. I'm sure Congressman Burgess would sacrifice his life to save any of our children should he encounter one near a smoking bus. Or a pollution-emitting batter plant, or fracking liquid manufacturer, or concrete plant or coal-fired power station, or any one of the many other polluting industries that abound here and nationwide.

Within one month of an Email to his office, I had a meet with his staff and 4 other government agencies, including the DOI and the BLM. It didn't go well for me, but Dems are what they are. But his office tried to get it done. After letters to Cornyn and Hutchison, I got "screw you, don't have time" responses in the mail. At least his office tried. Writing your congressman can get answers.

As I learned in my PolSci class, it's how these folks roll. As long as they become professional politicians, and read the same books on how to become a politician, and receive the same counseling, needs election funds and worry about returning to Congress, they all become the same.
If politics is your job, then you have to dance to the tune of the piper. Or the piper pays another jester.
