I'm starting to come around on this socialism thing. I am now in favor of ObamaCare and other redistribution efforts. In fact, I am preparing to send Al a bill for his share of my property taxes, car payment, and cell bill. All of these are necessities in today's society and as such they should be shared among all of us. I see no reason to stop with just healthcare...lets do it all!!

Josh, josh... you just don't get it. You are "billed" by the gov't in the taxes you pay, and your taxes go for socialized services. You don't bill other people. Imagine what a mess it would be if you did (although it might solve the USPS's budget problems).

You do like driving on the roads, as well as having public education, national defense, police and fire service, right??? Or do you want to privatize all those and hope it works?

Josh, you're still not thinking straight. We don't need more waste. We need a lightweight gov't that does the basics and offers services where it makes sense (like highways, police, fire, education & healthcare funding, etc).

I say bring on big government. I need them to create a new agency (very efficient one though) that will process the payment of my car, cell, and property tax bills. I want the bill sent to everyone who make $1 more a year than I do. I challenge anyone to argue that I do not have a right to the house I want, the car I want, or the cell phone I want. ALL are necessities in today's society. There is surely a greater good involved when I am housed properly and can communicate as I want. It says in the COnstitution that the government can take care of those things for me. NO matter that the FOunder's didnt list those. That was soooo long ago...as if they could even know. sheesh

Perhaps it is not very clear... by "lightweight" I mean efficient at doing what needs to be done (and only what needs to be done)... yes, that includes a single payer healthcare system if you ever want to get healthcare costs inline with other developed countries (but perhaps you are different and you like paying a lot more and you like dysfunction?). Sounds more like common sense to me than a joke.
