New to CC and country livin'

Postby weim_09 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 12:56 pm

I need some opinions here....I live on a couple of acres(over 10) all fenced in with locked gate with my family, horses, and cattle. It is a pretty good walk to my house from the front gate and barn is closer. I came home the other afternoon after work, still daylight and notice someone walking up my driveway. As soon as he hears me in my vehicle come up the driveway he turns and walks toward me and as he gets closer he's getting smaller and notice it's a teenager selling something for his high school. I was in no mood to talk and sent the kid on his way, but after I thought about it I got more irritated.

I'm new to living in the "country"...so just looking for opinions. He's lucky he didn't make it to my house and surprise my old man.

I just can't imagine hopping someone's fence and walking onto their property to supposedly peddle some stuff for the local HS.

Hopping fences and gates is just a part of "good, clean country livin". Stay alert. CC cops don't patrol residences. They are after ticket dollars, no matter what the council claims. You are your own police, as you have no other protection.

Hop'n fences and gates is asking for suicide assistance. I would have scared the crap out of the kid with a lesson in fences and private property. Then I'd probably have bought whatever it was he was selling. Obviously Mom and Dad haven't raised him to respect private property, he'd appreciate the lesson, if not tomorrow, later in life. :)

Open gate would need a "No Trespassing" signage.
