I see both sides of this argument, what Founding Fathers wrote and what reality these days may require. It would be interesting to see how many current Constitutions around the world are still based on something so far back?

There is a specific procedure for changing times: amending the Constitution. That is the only legal means for modifying the governing covenant.
It has been done in the past and allows for only those items that pass public scrutiny to be added to the framework. There is no way that legislators would vote on amending the Constitution without reading it.

Since there is no way Obamacare would have been ratified, they instead chose stealth, bribery, and bogus reasoning to assume powers that are not expressly granted.

The SC gets to decide that.

Too bad our system is dysfunctional or problems could have been fixed better and sooner... but I'll take moving forward, even if it is imperfect, over not moving at all.

Besides, there's no such thing as a significant healthcare fix that everybody likes. Too much ignorance and too many special interests involved, especially those who benefit & profit most from the dysfunction in the system.
