I just received another flush valve to try. I've been watching my upstairs potty and one of the downstairs potties and they both seem to be working reliably now. The other potty I need to check..... last time I checked I think it wasn't reliably 1/2 flushing. I'll check it again and try the new flush valve in there if it's not working and report back when I get a chance.
I'm wondering if these things just need to "loosen" up a bit before they start working reliably.
I guess I need to email him again and let him know my status. If the cable could be custom cut, or internally lubricated, or somehow made to operate with less resistance, it's be perfect.
I've got it as straight and bind free as I can and I can still feel resistance, thus 2-3 out of 5 flushes bind and full flush.
I'll say again though, even with that not working (it's intention, to save water) the kit is a great deal to properly overhaul a toilet and it works better than the traditional ballcock and float system.
