2 liters is a little more than 1/2 a gallon.... seems pretty efficient to me. :D

I suspect the new units are more efficient than you might think... and if not, they should get "on board" when they realize the savings & payoff.

That's strange... I haven't noticed anything like that.

I thought it might have something to do with the format I'm using. When the forum's format changed sometime back I opted for the old format upon signing in instead of what's on the public forum.

Is it not working now? Sometimes when I thought it was working it later stopped... so I don't know what the deal is. It would be great if this thing worked consistently but I have to say the ratings on Amazon don't justify the inconsistent 1/2 flushes. :(

Well, this might have been me. I looked and the valve isn't where I thought I left it. It was back where it was when it was giving me a problem. I think I may have forgot to go back and readjust to where it was working. I've lost track. :)

I think we're good again. If so, it's adjusted great now, and it will save water, in spite of all the potty jokes we've inspired and created.

Just keep a half gallon water bucket next to the porcelain throne. Throw it in the pot after the paper work is finished and refill the bucket from the bathtub. That has got to be simpler and less time and resource consuming than what you guys have been doing. I saw that water rationing sign at the entrance to Lantana Trail and I have to wonder how much that potty flush reducer had to do with that.

Yeah, sorry for using all that water with my new potties.

Ok, false alarm. The misbehaving potty was my fault. It's all good!

Time to stop tinkering and leave it alone and just enjoy it.

I'm not posting anymore. Every time I do I prove myself wrong. :x

Maybe this reply will do the trick and make half flush, consistently.

More potty talk (for you Rosemary):

I just received another flush valve to try. I've been watching my upstairs potty and one of the downstairs potties and they both seem to be working reliably now. The other potty I need to check..... last time I checked I think it wasn't reliably 1/2 flushing. I'll check it again and try the new flush valve in there if it's not working and report back when I get a chance.

I'm wondering if these things just need to "loosen" up a bit before they start working reliably.

I personally am on pins and needles, awaiting the update. Buy a urinal (1/4 flush) for pity's sake and mount it where your "man" bidet obviously resides.

I guess I need to email him again and let him know my status. If the cable could be custom cut, or internally lubricated, or somehow made to operate with less resistance, it's be perfect. :D I've got it as straight and bind free as I can and I can still feel resistance, thus 2-3 out of 5 flushes bind and full flush.

I'll say again though, even with that not working (it's intention, to save water) the kit is a great deal to properly overhaul a toilet and it works better than the traditional ballcock and float system.

Funny, he isn't responding anymore. And I've now tested it with the cable box pulled off so I could hold it perfectly straight and in it's natural bend and still no different. Maybe 50/50. As far as water saving, it may save a little, but not even close to being worth doing it for that alone. But as a general toilet flush control device, the kit as a whole is well worth it.

I'll update if I can get any response.

Al, did the new flush valve work any better?

Actually, I haven't used it. My potties have actually been flushing properly! I wonder if the system just needed to "loosen up" or something. I am still watching them though... but it seems like they fixed themselves. :D

I agree that it's still a good kit to replace the toilet guts even if the 1/2 flush might be problematic. I didn't buy it for that reason anyway... I was looking at repair parts for a potty that broke and came across the ONE2FLUSH, saw the high ratings, saw what it was, and decided it sounded pretty good. And for now anyway, it's working great.

Dig'n up for an update. Mine started to act like it was getting better, then didn't. I let it go for a while then emailed Bruce back again (didn't hear back the last time) and he promptly replied with something to try, on the cable from the control, which didn't work so he sent me a new one.

The cable on the new one was notably less rigid in the controller and works perfectly, every time.

So it appears there was an issue with some flush valve/cable/controller's which the new one fixed. I've tried but failed to figure out a way to make it fail.

The potty is now muy bueno! :D
