But if you combine that technique with half-flushes, then it's like a quarter flush per elimination!

What happened to Pipeline's post? Did he remove it, or did you?

I'm not aware of any moderators removing any posts lately... though I am only aware of what Al-La-Mod does. :)

Pipeline wrote:( Don't really care if is half a flush, full flush or four flushers). I want an inexpensive compressed air toilet, that makes you feel like your sitting on a jet engine, when you flush..

I'm totally with Pipeline on this one. I've replaced two impotent flushers that came with my house and the amazing thing is they don't use more than 1.2 gallons per flush ( I think). Personally, I wouldn't care if they used 14 gallons per flush as long as they get the job done on the tough flush. I wanted a toilet that made the curtains on the wall wave everytime you flushed. If I could get the toilet I wanted I was willing to install handrails to be mounted on the wall next to the toilet to ensure the flusher's safety. Anyway, I researched the subject thoroughly and ended up buying the fIrst, and then the second, one from the Lowes down on the corner. I had to order them from their Internet inventory. The pipes in it are about 3" diameter and are internally polished (that's like spraying pam in them before each flush), and there are no corners in the internal piping, just big radii curves. My biggest concern was how small the water tank is -- much smaller than the former ones. Well, I was so pleased with the first one that I went back and bought another one. If you guys want to be happy, quit messing with that plastic and get yourself some serious ivory!

I bet there are plastic parts in your new toilet too!

I did not want to replace the toilets or spend a load of $$$.

I think the bottom line on the units I bought is that you have to route the cable well if you want consistent 1/2 flushes to work right. Yes, it's a bit of a hassle and I wish it wasn't this way, but I'll manage. I'll be very happy if I don't have to do any more potty repair for 5+ years.... hopefully more.

You are correct about the expense but the toilets the builder installed were a constant problem functionally and maintenance-wise. I was as determined as a one-legged man gone to tail kicking that I was going to get the problem fixed and I did.

Glad you got it fixed, but I wonder if it just needed all new "guts" inside? Basically the kits I bought replaced everything that wasn't porcelain (except the toilet seats which can also be bought separate when you want new ones).

Al, last night on page 3 you quoted my response to Pipeline, but his post and my post on page 2 had mysteriously disappeared on my computer. I know they were not there because I was going to amend my post since I thought Pipeline's had disappeared, but mine wasn't there also. This morning they are back, not that it's a big deal one way or another. Maybe what was on the bottom of page 2 was lost for awhile. I do notice that some threads at the bottom of a page are sometimes not all there at times on other topics. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this.

This is what I'm yamerrin' about. Can't beat "slick" porcelain. Keep the half flush for behind the tree outside and save the "frac" water for that "tough flush". I think I know what a "tough flush" is, but do elaborate, so I can be sure. I'm still not sure I'm sold on the "girlie" flush this thread is all about.

I have been on a couple of those compressed air toilets, where after flushing, I thought sure I was "going down with the ship".

BTW, so far it looks ;like this thing is working!! So far so good! Now I'll need it to last 14.3 years to make up for the cost of all the test flushing. (kidding)

That's strange... I haven't noticed anything like that.

Is it not working now? Sometimes when I thought it was working it later stopped... so I don't know what the deal is. It would be great if this thing worked consistently but I have to say the ratings on Amazon don't justify the inconsistent 1/2 flushes. :(

Its very cute to see Al trying to save the world one tiny half flush at a time when I go into my work restroom or restaurant restrooms all over the country and they all have the monster flushing system that uses at least 2 liters or more per flush. At least it seems that way.

Get the work building and restaurants on board and you can finally make a difference.
