The Mayor Sue, Regina Imperatrix, points out how she managed to dampen any high spirits on New Year's Eve by having the sheriff's deputy traverse each road in town not once, but twice, just to make sure we are intimidated sufficiently so as to avoid a conflagration.
Not that I mind folks foregoing fireworks in the current drought, mind you, but the tone of her missive in the Town Council Agenda is imperious. I do not appreciate that. Her signs are also very irritating.
What irritates me most is her lauding of Flower Mound Fire Chief Eric Metzger, the saviour of the Flower Mound and the houses surrounding it. I write that because as I prepared to post this information about the town hall meeting, I spoke with a fellow citizen of CC. When we discussed this point, my confrere almost spewed a certain fizzy, alcoholic beverage out of that esteemed personage's nose. I was informed that Metzger was one of the WORST offenders of shooting fireworks when he lived in Copper Canyon. Apparently he shot so many fireworks one 4th of July, his neighbors complained vociferously about the copious amount of fireworks detritus - both in their yards and on their roofs - that resulted from his activities. That in part lead to the Mayor implementing her fist of steel crack-down on fireworks being used in CC. Seems Metzger put on a show that would rival that of the Family Zambelli, while he was still a resident of CC.
Did the Mayor praise Metzger because it was politically expedient to do so? Or did she completely forget about his pyrotechnic shenanigans in CC in years past?
Either she lacks judgment or lacks a clear memory. Either way, I think it is time for her to consider retiring from her role as Queen of Copper Canyon.
First we read the fawning praises of Rap Sheet Charlie, now this. When will it end?
