Angry Birds?

Postby Uther » Wed Nov 09, 2011 9:56 am

WTH is it with people? I just don't "get it."

First there was Farmville, where every Tom Dick and Harry that I knew on the Internet sent me stuff and invitation to join them.

Now it's Angry Birds. New devices feature it in their list of "buy us because..." reasons.

Roku has Angry Birds, Smartphones have it, my browser has it. What happens when the game loses it's shine? Then I'm stuck with this baggage?

It's only a game, and games aren't popular for more than *maybe* a year or so.

I'm already betting that the fruit slicing ninja thingie will take over.

We played Fruit Ninja Kinect at the Ford exhibit at the State Fair and it was a blast.

What is it harming you if someone is playing Angry Birds? Last I checked you did not have to play any of the games you don't want to. Why can't people have a little fun? And if it last maybe a year, then that was their time and money and doesn't affect you at all!

Angry Birds is so yesterday afternoon. Words was my thing until they pushed an update that blew out accounts so they could drive people to use FB logins ($$$) so I'm done with that. My daughter loves the slicer thing but the sound drives me nuts!

I'm back to solitaire for now. :D

Touched a nerve there, did I? :P

My point being that Roku, et al is paying licensing fees for this bird poop (pun intended) which means I have to pay Roku more. And if it's hardwired into the Roku (like Blockbuster is into my Blu-ray player), then in 3 years' time, there is this rather useless stuff on my box while the newer stuff (like Amazon video on demand) ain't there.
