Hopefully it will include the long-waited east-west street from Copper Canyon Road to the north side of the Sonic and reduce some traffic accidents. For the past few years, trying to turning left out of that Sonic some times of the day has been a real female dog.

You must be forgetting about CC's "intersecting road" ordinance (creative law). That ordinance took HV an extra 2 years to get Harlington road thru, and now everybody uses it, duhhh! Unless the CC mayor has trouble getting out of Sonic, don't hold your breath on a cut thru road. That road won't get done unless a council member ( the Dukes and Duchesses) benefits.

So how exactly will this new development access 407? I'm actually quite interested as I'm afraid of one alternative that I shall not name due to my superstitious nature.

Depends on where "loose" city limits lie. After the redo of Chinn's Chapel a few years ago the county deeded the road to CC. CC and HV Mayors (both chicks) got into a cat fight over non-existent drainage issues, so Mr. creative law attorney (Welch), created the "intersecting road" ordinance to piss off HV. After deeding from the county, CC owned the road, but not the East ROW, So HV had to pay fees of, I believe, a 100 bucks per lot for a connecting road. At least that was what the original ordinance required.

On CC Road, the county still owns a lot of the Western part of the road and the ROW. It won't be deeded to CC untill the redo of CC Road. Lantana (Republic) had "gentleman's agreements", not to put Lantana cut thru's into CC. But since the county has yet to deed CC the Road and ROW's, gentleman's agreements mean little. Republic is ahead of the curve, and those cut thru's will move traffic, while only slight affecting CC's "rural atmosphere" and property values, which is all their council seems concerned about.

CC's ordinance can't stop cut thru's, (not a gated town, Texas law, ya know), but it just causes idiotic delays and costs developers, thru lunacy.

I was told that it will be off of Copper Canyon Rd. and not connected to any internal Lantana streets.

I was actually excited about such a place close to Lantana because my father was looking for a senior, independent living community.We built our home with a downstairs bedroom with full bath, anticipating moving him in one day, but he insists on having his own place. I loved the idea of possibly having him that close to me until I learned that the units have stairs. Really?

Seriously, who came up with the brilliant idea of two-story units for a senior community? My sister and her husband are only in their lower 50s, and they just sold their home because they hated the stairs. Did the developers do research and survey people 62 and over on how they feel about stairs? I think not. Just blows my mind.

A couple of weeks ago I heard from an unconfirmed source that the Aspens project has been delayed. However, it might be a good idea to talk to the people at the Aspens now and try to get in on the "ground floor," literally speaking, before construction begins. What you're saying is true, but there could be elevators in the plans, so that upper floor residents have easy access.

It's Flower Mound's discard project. Now we have them building a small housing community.

How will this affect property values in Canyon Oaks? Can't think it will be beneficial, but wonder if it will be detrimental or a non-factor?
