Speaking of a sting operation, earlier this afternoon a sheriff and two "unmarked" vehicles were loitering around in Fairlin. Very odd but I didn't notice anything going on other than the cars circling the neighborhood for a few minutes. Had to have been something, however.
It doesn't matter if I've had my coffee or not.

From the Denton County Sheriff's Office:

On 10/01/11, Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 500 block of Kirby Drive in Magnolia. Upon arrival, Deputies met the Complainant who had called 911 for medical assistance regarding her injured knee. The Complainant explained that her knee was injured on Thursday evening, 9/29/2011, when she and her 33 year old daughter were on the back porch of their residence arguing. The Complainant stated that her daughter grabbed her by the arms and pushed her to the concrete floor.

The Complainant had bruising on her upper left arm, scratches on both fore arms, bruising and inflammation on her right knee as well as scratches on her right and left legs.

After being checked by Argyle EMS, the Complainant drove herself to a local hospital for medical care.

The case was referred to Sheriff Investigators.

Sounds like an episode of Cops.

From the Denton County Sheriff's Office:

On 10/12/2011, Deputies were dispatched to a Theft Report at a residence in the 1300 block of Bonham Parkway in
Larkspur. Upon arrival, the company representative for One Source, a roofing company, reported that
roofing materials and shingles to re-roof the house at that location had been delivered and had been stacked in the
driveway. The homeowner reported that she returned home to her residence and saw two suspects loading her
shingles into the white Ford F-150, four door pickup.

As the homeowner arrived in front of her home, the two suspects drove away. The roofing company representative
reported that they drove away with nine bundles of shingles with an approximate value of $350. The driver of the
suspect vehicle was reported to be white male in his mid-thirties to early forties, tall and very muscular build, the passenger
was approximately the same age and more slender build with a “buzz” hair cut.

Witnesses reported that the rear and front license plates of the F-150 were missing.

Did they not catch up to them later on in the area of Mustang and Golf Club?

From the Denton County Sheriff's Office:

There was a truck stopped at that location and Deputy Ridge took the
witnesses to the location, but they could not identify the two occupants
as being the theft suspects. The stolen roofing material was not
located in the truck either.

The birdie knew they stopped a white ford truck and thinks they may have had some not so upstanding boys being checked out but apparently was either not the same truck, or they had enough time to "clean up". But who knows, after all, a birdie does have a birds brain.

From the Denton County Sheriff's Office:

On 10/27/11, Deputies were dispatched to a burglary of a vehicle report at the Lantana Golf Club parking lot.
Upon arrival they spoke with the complainant who stated that she parked her Toyota SUV in the parking of the
Lantana Golf Club at approximately 9:45 AM that morning. When she returned to her car at approximately 3 PM
she saw the rear passenger door window had been covered with white plastic and there was a note attached stating
“A member noticed your window was broken so we put this trash bag on the car to keep the rain out.”

The complainant realized her purse had been taken from the center floor behind the front seats.
She said the purse contained her driver`s license , checkbook, several credit cards,
approximately $240 in cash, allergy medicine, and other miscellaneous items.

The complainant stated that fraudulent charges had already been made on one of her credit cards to:
Party City, Target, Taco Bell, Tom Thumb Gas in Flower Mound. The card was declined when a female
attempted to use the credit card at an O`Reilly`s Auto Parts store to purchase an aluminum ramp for loading/unloading
ATVs or mowers onto a truck. The female then wrote a check from the complainant’s stolen check book for the purchase.

The manager of the O’Reilly’s Auto Parts store said there was also a male with the woman. He described the male to be
in his mid to late 30`s, medium build, bald head that did not appear to be shaved, about 5` 10" tall, wearing shorts.
He described the female to be in her mid to late 30`s, heavy set, dark brown short hair tied in the back of her head, and
approximately 5` 9" tall. He said the business does not have security cameras. The Sheriff’s CID is investigating the case.

That's sounds like the family that hit cars at Kids Castle.

I can't believe no one is no noticing that light blue VW bug around. These "parents" (scary thought) are pretty bold. You'd have to wonder what's driving their need to commit these robberies and other crimes (drugs?) in the same area without appearing to care? They probably realize how easy they blend in.
