Yup! :D

I enjoyed Tron: Legacy. I think the visuals & special effects and uniqueness made it enjoyable, especially on Blu-ray. Looked and sounded great. It's nice to escape to "another world" for bit before coming back here and posting more political drivel.

Just watched GasLand... pretty scary/sad stuff. It reinforces my view that when big money is involved, the environment and your average citizen take a backseat to big oil & lobbyists & their attorneys.

Interesting about the "Halliburton exemption". The infrared video from the condensate tanks was also enlightening. You can't see anything with the naked eye, but look it with an infrared camera:

I thought it was a bit shocking too that they can just vaporize/evaporate the waste water into the environment. Guess where it goes.

And then there is the damage to the environment that they showed, where people use to be able to drink water out of the creeks, where kids grew up with nature, when it was clean & safe, and now it's contaminated.

And the gov't agencies that are suppose to regulate to protect people and the environment are often in the hands of the industry they are suppose to be watching over, or affected by legislation that was influenced by lobbying from the industry.

I'd say the vast majority of the documentary was very believable. I'll probably watch some bonus features tomorrow.

OK, enough of my spiel. :D

Al do some research on Gasland. There has been a lot of stuff showing the guy that made it was a fraud. One instance is the guy that light his water faucet has been shown to have enough bacteria in his water system (naturally occuring) that they caused the gas. There have been numerous accounts debunking this show.

Wait... so you are claiming bacteria is causing water to ignite? So, if someone said they never had this problem until AFTER the gas well was drilled, you would still say it is caused by bacteria? Do you have any reputable scientific source saying that bacteria can cause this? Has it ever been PROVED (by reputable/independent testing) that it was cause by bacteria? Sorry, I'm having a hard time believing these claims of bacteria suddenly causing water ignition after gas well drilling.

No, that it just happened to be put in a film called "Gasland" without the mention that the water was already making it's own ignitable "gas".

How do you know the water was already "making it's own ignitable "gas""? Not interested in someone's theory, but actual & believable 'evidence' or 'proof' that it was "making it's own ignitable "gas"" before the well was dug.

You think you'll get that from a movie?

A movie, no, not really. A documentary, yes, likely, if it is a "decent" one, then it should provide evidence and proof which, in most cases, I think GasLand did a decent job. The majority of GasLand info being believable to any reasonable and unbiased person. :D

I suspect your 'bacteria' claim that the flaming faucets were doing that before the well was dug has no basis other than being some 'O&G theory' that is completely unsubstantiated?

i would be surprised if he lit his water on fire before the wells, so they probably don't know, i know i haven't tried to light my water on fire, but i guess i should try that tonight.

Hmmm.. did you hear in that piece who was a major driving force behind the legislation that makes some of the non-disclosure possible?
I finally found an avatar that works!

Wait, JKTex needs to tell them that those fiery faucets are just caused by too much bacteria.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
