Town Fireworks Regulations

Postby admin » Tue Jun 29, 2010 5:52 pm

From the Town of Bartonville:

With the 4th of July coming, everyone is asking if fireworks are allowed. Fireworks are allowed in Bartonville PROVIDED IT IS A BURN DAY. To determine if it is a burn day, visit the Denton County Emergency Services website or contact them at 940.349.2840.

If it is a burn day, residents are still limited to the following restrictions:

- The activity must be supervised by a property owner over the age of 18.

- The fireworks must be discharged from the individuals property, NOT THE ROAD OR THE TOWN'S RIGHT-OF-WAY.

- Fireworks are limited to 1.4G consumer fireworks as defined by the U.S. Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials table. Black cats, aerial salutes and Roman candles are permitted. 1.4G consumer fireworks are defined as explosives that present a minor explosion hazard. The explosive effects are largely confined to the package and no projection of fragments of appreciable size or range is to be expected. An external fire must not cause virtually instantaneous explosion of almost the entire contents of the package.

Officers will be on duty to enforce the fireworks regulations. To report the unlawful discharge of fireworks, please contact the non-emergency dispatch number at 940.349.1600. As always, in the case of an emergency, please dial 911.
