I haven't had problems with it, It would take a catastrophe to bring google down. I am sure they have disaster recovery in place, if it was down, it was only for seconds.

It was down for a while for me. They have completely changed the format of the home page and now it is "IGoogle." I have not googled in a while, is this new as of today, or has it been that way for a while?

Google's home page is still just the regular old google homepage, I think that change only affected people with the google toolbar plugin installed in Internet Explorer. But if you just go to www.google.com, you will see it is unchanged.

I'm not sure, but I think Google they may be giving people different home pages (not sure how they decide which page to show). If you get the "fancy" one (iGoogle), then you should be able to configure it back to the "classic" one and vice-versa.

I just checked it via http://www.google.com, and it's the regular page. There is a little link in the upper righthand corner of the page that will take you to "iGoogle", and when you are on that page, there's a link again in the upper right side that will take you back to "Classic Home".
It doesn't matter if I've had my coffee or not.

I tried accessing Google search and my gmail this morning and had issues.

A $25 Billion dollar company and its site goes down for an hour or two?

Hmmm...how many millions of dollars should they estimate was lost?

Although its "online", its the equivalent of every single Wal Mart shutting its doors for an hour and not letting customers in to buy.

Might be a temporary routing problem only affecting some people... if the entire Google search network went down, then I'm pretty sure there would be a news story about it... don't see one yet.

It would have to be a local ISP then- possibly Grande? Thats what I have.

Otherwise, a Google routing problem would not be affecting some people, it would everyone.
