Is anyone planning to try to upcoming Windows 8 Consumer Preview that is suppose to be available today?

I think I may try it out on an extra machine I have sitting around.

I don't have a touch-sensitive screen but that would be a big plus when checking out Windows 8... might have to buy one if I see a "slick deal" on one.

I think I will get a Dell ST2220T multi-touch monitor the next time it's on sale.

Please let us know how it does virtualized. I'm assuming you are going to use vmware player?

I use VirtualBox sometimes, but not often since I don't have much need for virtualization.

dang looks like vmware player won't work, per some web sites and me. guess will have to play around this weekend and see how to hack this or pony up for vmware workstation..or install virtualbox

I'm not surprised... I've run into various issues and limitations with VM's. I'm waiting for a new SSD (Crucial m4) to try it on a spare machine so I can enjoy the "native" experience and not have to worry about VM issues. Now if only I had that multi-touch monitor, but I can wait.

Al, based on the "other" forum, you live fully virtualized in a virtual box!

Try HyperV. You can get a free non-GUI version that can handle up to something like 1 host and 4 VM's.

Well at least you are not using MS DOS 5.0 or something. Windows 95 was like 17 years ago.... wow... hard to believe it's that old.
